    A. Yes. A duplicate title can be ordered so you can complete the sale or act of donation.

  • Q. How can I obtain a duplicate title?

    A. You, as the owner, must sign a duplicate title affidavit before a notary. This can be done before any notary or here at ATLA. There is always a notary on duty, so we have it covered.

    A. Yes, if there are two owners listed on a vehicle, then both must sign a duplicate title affidavit before a notary.

    A. A duplicate title generally takes 7–10 working days to arrive in the mail.

  • Q. I'm trying to sell / buy a vehicle, but the owner is deceased. Can a duplicate title be issued for this situation?

    A. No. A duplicate title cannot be issued if the owner is deceased. There are other options that can be used. Give us a call for more information (504-887-0588).

  • Q. My name is misspelled on my title. Can Auto Title of Louisiana help with this?

    A. Yes. Just bring ATLA the incorrect title along with your identification, and we can get a new title re-issued with the correct spelling.
